Young girl hospitalised following Clareabbey incident

A YOUNG GIRL remains in hospital after sustaining serious injuries on Tuesday morning.

Following a violent incident at a property in Clareabbey, the girl was rushed to University Hospital Limerick (UHL) for treatment. The alarm was raised at 8am on Tuesday morning.

Specialist care at a hospital in Dublin may be required for the girl who suffered injuries to her head. Emergency medical support has been provided at UHL.

A female woman was also discovered unconscious at the scene.

An Garda Síochána in a statement to The Clare Echo confirmed they were “investigating all the circumstances” surrounding the incident in Clarecastle. “Investigations are ongoing. No further information is available at this time,” a spokesperson stated.
