A WOMAN in her eighties has died following a road traffic collision involving a car and a truck between Kilbaha and Kilkee.

At approximately 4pm on Tuesday, the fatal road traffic collision occurred on the R487 between Kilbaha and Kilkee.

Emergency services personnel pronounced the driver of the car, a women in her eighties, dead at the scene.

No other injuries to persons were reported.

To allow a technical examination take place by Forensic Collision Investigators, the road was closed on Tuesday evening and night with local diversions in place.

An Garda Síochána have appealed for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R487 between 3:45pm and 4:15pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
