WOLFE TONES are preparing for another final after qualifying for the U21B football decider.

Wolfe Tones 3-12
Cratloe 1-7
Venue: Clarecastle

The line-up for the U21 B football championship final was completed on Monday night at the astro pitch in Clarecastle when Wolfe Tones justified favouritism with victory over their neighbours Cratloe.

In next week’s final they will take on Kilmurry Ibrickane at Clarecastle.

With victory in the intermediate hurling and football championships along with success in the junior B and minor football championships already achieved, they will be keen to add another title to their collection when they face the West Clare outfit.

They got off to a great start with a Craig Riordan goal after two minutes.

There was a strong response from Cratloe who hit back with 1-2 without reply, the goal coming from Jamie Moylan who caused a lot of problems for the Shannon side.

Eoin Carey had to retire due to ijury and this was a big blow to Cratloe.

Having had to wait until the twentieth minute for their next score, the winners then hit nine unanswered points, four coming before half time, all from Craig Riordan while they went on to land the first five of the new half.

The loss of Jake Higgins to a black card was punished as his opponent, Colin Riordan struck for a goal pushing the winners nine points clear early in the second half.

The Shannon men struck for their third goal in injury time when substitute Lee Cregan found the net.
