TWO MEN have been injured following an assault in Ennis.

A stabbing took place in the vicinity of O’Connell Street in the county town shortly before 5:30pm on Friday evening.

In the assault, two men, aged in their forties and twenties were injured. The man in his 40s was taken to hospital for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The man in his 20s was not taken to hospital.

Gardaí are investigating the incident with enquiries ongoing. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

It is the second knife related attack to occur in the county this week with a stabbing in Kilrus on Tuesday.
