Ballyvaughan’s Liam Jegou has seen his Olympic journey end.

Jegou competed in the canoe slalom semi-finals on Day Three of the Tokyo Olympics.

Of the first five paddlers, Liam was the fastest but missed two gates and received two time penalties of 100 seconds each for this which ended his Olympic dreams.

Liam progressed to the semi-finals following a composed second run at the heats a day previous in a time of 104.40 which included a two second penalty.
