THE WATER BREAK, The Clare Echo’s vodcast (video/podcast) returns for a fourth series.

What a way for us to kick off than digging straight into a special championship win for Colm Collins and the Clare footballers. They defeated Cork in Sunday’s Munster SFC, it’s the first championship win over the Rebels since 1997 and the fourth ever.

To look back on a memorable occasion, Páraic McMahon is joined by Martin Daly, the man who got the infamous goal to win against Cork in 1997 and former Clare manager Micheál McDermott who was a selector on that day.

Items on the Clár:

  • How the jigs of 1997 compared with 2023
  • Unsung heroes – Podge Collins and Pearse Lillis went the extra mile
  • Spirit was building since National Football League relegation
  • Clare’s year is dependent on competing in the All-Ireland SFC
  • Darren O’Neill’s game-changing influence
  • Go short or go home was Cork’s kickout approach
  • Sideline supremos
  • That match-winning feeling
