MOVING round has came and gone in the TUS Clare SHC leaving plenty of talking points following an exciting weekend of action.

Éire Óg, Kilmaley and Sixmilebridge recorded second round wins while Broadford and Scariff are still unbeaten after following up their first round victories with an East Clare stalemate in Dr Daly Park.

Even the TG4 cameras were in the county with the tie of Éire Óg and Clonlara living up to its billing as the marquee game and a perfect advertisement for Clare hurling.

On the latest episode of The Water Break, Ross O’Donoghue is joined by All-Ireland intermediate winner Padraig Hickey of Broadford and current Roscommon hurling coach Kevin McNamara who has steered Kilmaley to U21A hurling glory.

On the clár:

  • Top performances of round two
  • Éire Óg beating Clonlara was not “a shock”
  • Depth added to Éire Óg panel
  • Clonlara’s first defeat could be a setback
  • Kilmaley’s unbeaten run continues
  • Managers want impact subs but nobody wants to be them
  • The umpire strikes back – square ball for Conor Cleary goal explained
  • Do teams play better into the wind
  • Extra physical forward line adds firing power for Kilmaley
  • Feakle’s reliance on Shane McGrath
  • Corofin will turn their focus towards relegation battle
  • Difficulties at staying senior fresh from intermediate success
  • Disappointment for Broadford at losing a point in Scariff draw
  • Setting out stall of round one win has caught The Mills
  • Inamona continue to find their best fifteen
  • Very interesting final round awaits
  • What does training feel like when you’re on the back foot
  • Is Sixmilebridge and Newmarket-on-Fergus the tie of round two
  • Doora/Barefield’s concession of 1-3 off their own puckouts
  • Early favourites to win the intermediate championship
