INTER-PARTY rivalries are going to liven up the General Election campaign in Clare.

For the latest episode of The Electoral Chair, we’re joined at Hotel Woodstock by former Mayor of Clare and county councillor for thirty five years, Patricia McCarthy (IND) who contested the 1977 General Election and Fianna Fáil Director of Elections, Gerry Reidy.

Polling day of November 29th is edging closer. We’ve had the first blood drawn of the campaign with Cllr Tom O’Callaghan (FF) lucky to still have his fingers following a ladder incident in Clarecastle and it’s also from the Maggie land where the first shots have been fired with Leonora Carey (FG) criticising Fianna Fáil’s tourism manifesto and commitment to lift the passenger cap at Dublin Airport which she said is a betrayal of Shannon Airport. A pointed dig towards the party’s spokesperson on aviation, Cathal Crowe (FF).

The Electoral Chair: Election Debate takes place on November 21st in Hotel Woodstock where you can be part of the audience. Book your free tickets HERE.

On the clár for our latest episode:

  • Thoughts on the turnout

  • Where do Michael McNamara’s (IND) 7,332 first preferences go
  • What the doctor ordered – will health lead to increased Dr Tom Nolan (FG) vote
  • No zoned land for Fianna Fáil’s trio
  • Dooley campaign won’t leave Crowe unscathed
  • Oomph missing from Eddie Punch (II) campaign
  • Dyson Cooney may not be able for Carey machine
  • Credible reasons of Cllr Joe Cooney (FG) turnaround questioned
