TERRACE tickets sold out in fifteen minutes for the Munster senior hurling final between Clare and Limerick.

Taking place on June 9th in FBD Semple Stadium, Thurles, there is already fierce demand for tickets for the Munster final.

All 15,000 terrace tickets for Sunday week’s Clare-Limerick Munster senior hurling final in Thurles that were made available online on Thursday morning sold out in 15 minutes.

Tickets for the Kinane and Ryan stands will be distributed to clubs from County Boards in Clare and Limerick. Secretaries from clubs in Clare have been contacting club members this week with further details on their allocations.

Officials in Munster GAA explained, “Based on past experience, Limerick supporters will make up the majority of the Town End terrace, while Clare supporters will be in the majority in the Killinan End terrace”.

It will be the first time since Cork and Tipperary clashed in 1968, 1969 and 1970 that the same counties will meet in the Munster SHC final for three successive years. Limerick are chasing a sixth Munster title in a row while Clare have not won the Munster championship since 1998.

45,690 is the official capacity for Semple Stadium. In 2022, a 43,112 crowd attended the previous Munster SHC final between Clare and Limerick in FBD Semple Stadium and it is hoped the capacity will be increased slightly. Last year’s showdown in TUS Gaelic Grounds attracted 43,756.
