Shannon is standing “in solidarity” with Molex employees who on Tuesday were given the devastating news that the factory is to close next year with 500 jobs to go as a result.
A third arrest has been made as part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of illegal drugs and the possession of firearms in Co Clare.
A steering group has been established to coordinate jobs losses at Molex in Shannon over the next year.
Management at Molex Shannon have called staff to a meeting this afternoon (Tuesday) with hundreds of jobs feared to be on the line.
Molex has announced it will be closing its Shannon facility by the end of 2020, subject to an employee consultation process resulting in the loss of 500 jobs.
