One of the darkest days I experienced as a Clare hurling supporter was last year when Clare were decimated by Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds.
Kilmaley bounced back from their opening round disappointment to eventually get past Wolfe Tones and seal their spot in the Clare SHC quarter-finals.
The emphatic final margin may have been rather flattering but there’s no doubt that Wolfe Tones fully merited their confidence-boosting start to this year’s championship on Saturday evening.
