A swimming ban which had been in place for eight days at White Stand, Miltown Malbay has been lifted.
On Wednesday, Clare County Council confirmed that the prohibition on swimming had been lifted with immediate effect.
This followed analysis and the advice of the HSE. A spokesperson for the local authority stated that the water quality was “deemed to be excellent”.
Increased bacterial levels had been detected in the water after recent rainfall.
Members of the public are advised that the safest place to swim is at lifeguarded locations.
