ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE will be carried out on stretches of the road in Drumline but it has been omitted from this year’s works programme.

“Some of the road has been lost to the verge,” Cllr Alan O’Callaghan (FF) flagged while proposing roadside works be carried out on the L3174 in Drumline before the Killaloe Municipal District. His request was seconded by Cllr Pat Hayes (FF).

Senior executive engineer, Niamh Madden confirmed that it was not in this year’s road works programme but did not rule out its inclusion in future works. “The MD has examined the section of road in question and can confirm that essential maintenance will be carried out throughout the year, as required”.

She continued, “as some of the Drumline area is in the Shannon Municipal District, I can confirm that I have referred this request to the senior executive engineer in the Shannon MD also”.
