Two Clare footballers collected Sigerson Cup medals as UCC won the third level competition on Wednesday night.

Éire Óg duo Eimhin Courtney and Conall Ó hÁiniféin both of whom are also members of Colm Collins’ county senior panel lined out for the Cork college as they defeated St Mary’s 0-16 1-09 at O’Moore Park, Portlaoise.

Courtney started at corner forward and although he did not get on the scoresheet he set up many of their converted efforts while Ó hÁiniféin was introduced on the stroke of additional time and still managed to kick a point for the Billy Morgan outfit.

It is UCC’s twenty second title and first in five years as Kerry’s Sean O’Shea finished the hour with seven points to his name.
