It’s unprecedented times for businesses as attempts are made to flatten the curve of the spread of coronavirus.

Many doors remain open and The Clare Echo has compiled a local directory by areas to alert you as to what businesses are still operating as normal and are in need of your support.

NEWMARKET-ON-FERGUS:
E&O Chinese Takeaway remain open. Business hours have been changed “due to the safety of our staff”. Their delivery service continues. Hours: 4pm – 10pm (daily). Contact: 061 – 368999.

Eurospar had enforced social distancing measures keeping customers apart from each other as they queue. Hours: 7am – 10pm (Monday – Saturday), 8am – 9pm (Sunday).

Halpin’s Service Station have disposable gloves for customers to wear while using the petrol and diesel pumps. Contact: 086 811 0751

Mamma Mia’s Pizzeria remains open and has brought forward their closing hours to 10pm nightly. Customers must phone in orders, pay with card where possible. One person rather than the entire family is asked to collect food to limit the amount of customers at once. A maximum of three customers at a time are allowed in the premises. The counter, card machine and door are being sanitised very frequently. Hours: 4pm – 10pm (Sunday – Thursday), 2pm – 10pm (Friday), 1pm – 10pm (Saturday).

Newmarket Family Butchers have a three person in the store at all times policy. Hours: 9am – 6pm (Monday – Friday), 08:30am – 5:30pm (Saturday). Contact: (061) 368 600

Varden’s Pharmacy have asked customers to only enter for essential medicines and prescriptions. Orders in advance have been advised. Elderly customers have been told to get younger relatives or friends to collect their prescription. Access to the premises will only be allowed by phoning in advance. Contact: 061-368149. Hours: 09:30am – 6pm (Monday – Saturday).

PARTEEN:
Clancy’s Shop have a ring and collect service running to limit the amount of people. Their floors have markings displayed with the two metre social distance requirement. Hours: 7am – 9:30pm (Monday – Saturday), 8am – 1pm, 5pm – 8pm (Sunday). Contact: 061-348-848

SHANNON:
Cleanwell in Smithstown selling cleaning supplies for all companies. Hours: 9am – 5:30pm (Monday – Friday). Contact: 061 360 191.

Dealz in Sky Court Shopping Centre are open. Their social distancing measures are being checked daily by An Garda Síochána. Hours: 9am – 7pm (Mon – Wed & Sat), 9am – 8pm (Thurs & Fri), 11am – 6pm (Sun). Contact: 061708567. 

Dunnes Stores have added additional precautions to their SkyCourt store. Sanitising wipes and gels will be available for trolleys and baskets, the store has been limited to a capacity of 100 shoppers at a time, queues at required social distances are in place outside the store. Fresh counters are closed, group shopping is now limited and is not advised by management. The hours of 11am to 1pm are allocated to the elderly and vulnerable to pick up essentials.

Gleeson’s Goldsmiths are open with minimum staff. All surfaces, counters, door handles and products are disinfected after each customer. Contact: 061 364 115 / info@gleesongoldsmiths.ie. Hours: 9am – 5:30pm (Monday – Friday), 9:30am – 5pm (Saturday).

O’Connors Spar and Texaco continues to trade. Orders for Shelly’s Deli are to be done over the phone to eliminate queues and time spent in store, the same applies for groceries. A forecourt service is running from 9am to 6pm daily where a member of staff will fill fuel and get deli/shopping orders for those that wish to shop from the car. Open 7am – 10pm (Monday – Friday) and 8am – 9pm (Saturday & Sunday). Phone in your order to 061 364 484.

Shanahan Paints are open for those wishing to get some painting done as instances of DIY increase across the county. HOURS: 8am-6pm (Monday – Saturday). Contact: 061 718 674. 

Shannon Knights have limited opening hours of their off-licence. (12-8pm daily). Phone 061 361 045.

Shannon Volunteers are appealing for those with spare time on their hands to lend a hand in the area. 

Smitz Café are operating with grab and go sandwiches available only.  “With the health and safety of our employees and customers in mind, our deli, cafe & hot food counter will be closed for the foreseeable future”. Open from 2pm. Contact: 061 703313 / eat@smitzcafe.com.

Superpaws are allowing visitors to their shop by appointment only. This they say will eliminate the presence of more than one person in the shop at a time. Contactless payments have been encouraged. Contact: info@superpaws.com. Hours: 10am – 2pm, 3pm – 6pm (Monday – Friday).

SIXMILEBRIDGE:
O’Flynn’s Centra have asked customers to keep their distance, use contactless payment where possible, use the provided hand sanitisers, avoid touching glass surfaces, children not to visit the store unaccompanied. Open 7am to 10pm (Monday – Saturday) and 8am to 10pm (Sunday), contact 061 290 663.

Tim Crowe’s Gala are running an OAP dinner service in Sixmilebridge. The store has asked for weekly orders to be placed before Monday morning at 9am. A quota on baby food is in place while they have new social distancing signs in place which were made by local company Indigo Signs.
