Inspections of an “overflowing” drain in Knockanean will be conducted by Ennis Municipal District staff.

It follows a request by Cllr Pat Daly (FF) who brought the motion before a recent meeting of the Ennis MD. He stated that a drain on the left-hand side of the road 100m approximately from the Knockanean flyover bridge on the Gaurus side “is in danger of overflowing at any time”. His proposal was seconded by Cllr Johnny Flynn (FG).

Sections of the storm drainage on this road have been replaced over the past number of years, senior executive engineer Eamon O’Dea noted. “The section near the bypass bridge will be inspected and required maintenance works undertaken,” he added.
