Online scams are continuing to catch the Clare public, Gardaí have warned.
Gardaí in the county have renewed efforts to advise the public to be extra vigilant online when sharing information.
Within the past week, Clare Gardaí had three reports from persons who received a text from an internet banking saying that there had been unusual activity on their account. They followed a link and then realised that fraudulent transactions had taken place on their accounts.
“We want to remind people that anyone who rings, texts or emails you out of the blue and requests personal information such as bank details, they are not to be trusted. Do not click into any links they send you or call the number they contact you from or that is stated in their email,” crime prevention officer Triona Brooks outlined.
