An “unsafe section of road” in Lissycasey is to be discussed to determine if it fits the bill to warrant inclusion on the 2021 road restoration programme.
The case for adding the L6322 at Lena in Lisscasey to Clare County Council’s road restoration programme was put forward by Cllr PJ Kelly (FF) at a meeting of the West Clare Municipal District. He described it as an “unsafe section of road”.
No traffic accidents have been recorded on the Council’s database, senior executive engineer Alan Kennelly stated. “The L-6322 is very narrow, with many twists and undulations, typical of many country roads or boreens”.
Kennelly outlined that the schedule of Municipal District works had yet to be finalised but said the proposal from Cllr Kelly would be considered.
“It is a small section of the road that needs repair, it is in a valley and it wouldn’t take a lot of money to get right,” Cllr Kelly commented. His proposal was seconded by Cllr Joe Garrihy (FG).
