NO PATIENTS, staff or members of the public were injured following a fire at University Hospital Limerick (UHL) on Sunday morning.
Limerick Fire Services attended UHL on Sunday morning after 6:30am, following a fire in the bathroom of an inpatient ward.
Patients were evacuated without incident from six single rooms on the ward which were affected by smoke. Patients have been relocated to alternative wards, while the affected rooms are assessed and cleaned.
A spokesperson for UL Hospitals Group confirmed that no patients, staff or members of the public were harmed. “We thank all patients for their co-operation during the management of this incident and our staff for their professional response. We also thank Limerick Fire Service for their rapid response and attendance on site”.
