Response times from unmanned Garda stations in Clare have been sought by one of the county’s four TDs while no stations in the county have closed down during COVID-19.

Questioning Chief Superintendent Seán Colleran on the resources to Garda stations in Clare, Deputy Violet-Anne Wynne (SF) stated, “I know you have been providing service with limited resources. I know some Garda stations that can be manned on the phone but that is not always known to people if there are Gardaí on site”.

She appealed for further information on the response times from unmanned Garda stations in Clare. The Kilrush Deputy told the meeting of the Clare Joint Policing Committee that Sinn Féin would be lobbying for further supports regarding Garda resources.

Opening hours for all stations is available on the Garda website, Chief Supt Colleran stated. “Ennis, Kilrush and Shannon are 24 hour stations. The other stations are very much dependent on the resources available”. No Garda station in the county has closed during COVID-19, Colleran confirmed.
