Loop Head is one step closer to being beamed into cinemas across the world as the brand new Star Wars Episode VII: The Last Jedi trailer was released today.

There was great excitement around West Clare last year as the Star Wars film crew took over Loop Head lighthouse for three days in May.

Trailers released earlier this year show Rey, the lead character, standing in the amphitheatre at Loop Head.

While it’s difficult to tell exactly what areas star in this trailer, the Wild Atlantic Way definitely features heavily in the footage.

Tourism Ireland has announced it will launch a Star Wars campaign in December, which is sure to attract even more visitors to the West Clare site.

It’s unknown how much footage of Loop Head has ended up in the movie, but we can’t wait to see how much we can pick out.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Last Jedi will be released to cinemas on December 15, 2017.
