AIDAN MCCARTHY returns to the Clare senior hurling side for Sunday’s showdown with Cork.

A quad injury ruled McCarthy out of their facile win over Waterford in the third round but he now returns to the team at wing-forward for this weekend’s tie which is effectively a Munster semi-final for Brian Lohan’s side.

Ian Galvin who scored a goal in the win over Waterford drops to the bench as a result of McCarthy’s return.

Tulla’s David McInerney who went off injured a week ago is named at wing-back and included in the same line as John Conlon and Diarmuid Ryan.

Tony Kelly captains the side from centre-forward with the attack also comprised of Peter Duggan, Ryan Taylor, Shane O’Donnell and Mark Rodgers.

David Fitzgerald and Cathal Malone are named as the midfield partnership. Eibhear Quilligan continues in goals with Adam Hogan, Conor Cleary and Rory Hayes in front of him.

David Reidy is understood to be making progress on his recovery from a hamstring injury. The Ennis attacker has missed all of Clare’s championship bid to date.
