Robert Healy won the May monthly medal at Dromoland with 68 and with two shots to spare over Conor Hallissey who finished with 70. In third spot with 71 was Darren Piccolo. The gross was won by Kyle Neylon with 74 while the category for 22 and over was won by Eamon Power with 74.

In the ladies crystal 36 hole 2 day competition the winner was Mairead Toomey with 74 points from Colette Colleran with 72 points, Deirdre Cooney with 67 points and Suzanne McConway with 66 points. Leslie O’Flynn won the gross with 45 points.

In the crystal 18 hole Saturday competition the winner was Dolores Fox with 40 points from Dervla O’Neill with 39 points with third spot filled by Carola Wixted with 34 points.

Patricia Moroney with 35 points was the Sunday winner from Anne Fahy with 34 and Mary Arthur with 29.

Lahinch Golf Club:

Last Sunday, the Lahinch Jimmy Bruen team, managed by Padraig Hayes were narrowly defeated by Spanish Point with the final two matches going down the 19th hole.

On Thursday evening the Pierce Purcell team, managed by Michael O’Riordan and John Skerritt Senior braved very cold and windy conditions to defeat Doonbeg Links, in another close match, on the Castle Course to progress to the second round.

The senior men’s Fred Perry team, managed by Brian McElhinney are away to Spanish Point on this Thursday May 19 commencing at 3.30pm while the Barton Shield panel, managed by David Conway will line out against Woodstock at home on this Saturday with matches commencing at 4.30pm.

The Mixed Foursomes team, managed by Fiona McCarthy and Gerry Pierse are at home in their first-round match against Ennis GC on this Friday with the first match off at 4.10pm on the Old Course. Due to this match taking place the Friday Social Mixed Foursomes season will be delayed by one week and will now commence on Friday May 27.

Kilrush Golf Club:

The men’s competition at Kilrush last weekend was for the Shannon Ferries prize which was won by Brendan Carigg (30) with 41 points from Noel Kilkenny (20) with 39 points. In third place, also with 39 points, was Dominic Enright (21) followed by Pat Shannon (20) and he also returned 39 points.

The category winners were Neil Browne (7) with 37 points, Michael Meehan (15) with 35 points and Des Murphy (25) with 38 points.

The ladies competition for the Golden Vale prize was won by Peggy Mulqueen (33) with 39 points from Edel Crowley (45) with 38 points while the 12 hole winner was Martina Fox.

Woodstock Golf Club:

The competition at Woodstock at the weekend was an open singles which was won by Pat Solon (17) with 40 points. He had one to spare over Ken O’Shaughnessy (13) with third spot filled by Evan Green (12) and he also had 39 points. Tony Cleary (+1) won the gross with 34 points.

The open singles continues in this Thursday while the competition at the weekend will be the captain’s (Kieran Dromey) fourball.

Mary Morgan with 37 points and Mary Sweeney with 38 points were the winners of the past two ladies singles competitions at Woodstock.

Lady Captain Mary Mc Namara and Mags Nas won the Spring League final, beating Mary Gleeson and Mary Morgan.

In the Al Hayes singles matchplay qualifier the winner was Ollie McNamara(17) with 43 points from Liam McInerney(22) with 42 points with third spot filled by Brendan Neylon (10) with 40 points. Jason Considine (2) won the gross with 38 points while the category winners were Josh Bravender(7) with 39 points, Shane McCarthy (15) with 39 points and Rory O’Brien(27) with 38 points.

Ennis Golf Club:

The Cahercalla cup singles strokeplay competition at Ennis last weekend was won by David Considine (14) with 66 Nett from Noel Whelan (7) with 67, Paul Slattery (27) with 68 and Eamon Kelly (23) with 70 nett. Martin O’Neill (8) won the gross with 77 while the category winners were Alfred Jones (9) with 73, Padraig Cusack (14) with 72 and Desmond Ryan (25) with 71.

In the Friday open singles Evan Lewis (19) was the winner with 39 points from Matthew Kennedy (11) with 36 points and Patrick Cuddy (22) also with 36 points. Ray Keogh (7) won the gross with 29 points.

The winners of the Tuesday fourball were Fintan McEvoy and John Gavin with 36 points from Tony McInerney and David Boylan with a similar score. In third place with 32 points were J.J. Counihan and Rodger McMahon. The competition this weekend will be the St. Flannans PPU singles.

The ladies competition last week was for the Tadhg O’Flynn prize and the fourmat was fourball, The winners, with 42 points were Attracta Williams (30) and Ethna Murphy (27)  and they had two points to spare over Florence Coffee (21) and Maura Ryan. In third place, also with 40 points were Patricia Moroney (17) and Bridie Hanrahan (18) while the gross was won by Shannon (3) and Sinead Hegarty (15) with 24 points

The winner of the 9 hole stableford competition was Anne Kelly (15) with 18 points from Patricia O’Reilly with 17 points and Liz Kelly, also with 17 points.

Last week’s senior ladies outing was won by Mary Lenihan, Eileen Corry (T) and Patricia Leacy with 50.7 points from Therese Lillis, Mary McMahon and Margaret McEnery with 51 1/3 points.

East Clare Golf Club:

Brid Hayes was the winner of the ladies 18 hole stableford competition at East Clare last week with 35 points. Noreen O’Grady was second with 32 points.

Last Wednesday’s ladies competition was won by Breda O Loughlin, Helen Conway and Breda McCarthy with second place filled by Maureen Clune, Margaret Lynch and Kay Grimes.

In the senior men’s competition last week the winners were Jim Bradley, Tom Larkin and Brian Corry from Jim Greene, Ger Shortt and Jim Willis with third place filled by Willie Roche, Kevin Wallis and Noel Earley.

In last week’s men’s 18 hole stableford competition the winner was Michael Hayes with 42 points from Conor Hayes with a similae score while the gross was won by William O’Brien.

East Clare Ladies club will have an open day 18 hole stableford competition on Thursday June 2 while the men’s club will hold days every Thursday, starting on May 26. Tee times can be booked at 061 921 322.

Gort Golf Club:

Gerry Burke (26) was the winner of the 18 hole singles stableford competition at Gort at the weekend with 40 points while David Quirke (3) won the gross with 32 points.

The category winners were Robert McDonagh (4) with 40 points, Shane Byrne (17) with 37 points and Kyle McFarlane (34) with 39 points.

Conor Fogarty (29) won the Friday open singles with 42 points. The ladies 18 hole singles stableford competition was for the Bob Forde trophy and the winner was Margaret Foy (41) with 44 points from Yvonne McMahon (21) with 39 points with third spot filled by Geraldine Connors (23) with 38 points. Hannah McInerney (9) won the gross with 21 points. Yvonne McMahon had a hole in one at the 5th.
