REIGNING Cusack Cup champions Lissycasey are top of the table following three rounds of action.

After three rounds of games in the Cusack (division 1) and Garry (division 2) cup football competitions just three of the sixteen teams involved remain unbeaten with two of those, Lissycasey in the willwego.com Cusack Cup and Kilrush Shamrocks in the willwego.com Garry Cup on full points.

The other unbeaten team, St. Joseph’s Doora/Barefield, have two wins and a draw to their credit.

There has been much focus on the new rules introduced this year and one of those which is meeting with huge approval from followers is the awarding of two points for kicks from outside the ark which go over the bar.

In the weekend’s eight round 3 games in the Cusack and Garry cups there was a total of twenty three two pointers, seven being recorded in the Kilrush v O’Currys game while there were six in the game between St Joseph’s Doora/Barefield and Corofin.
