19:10 – In the wake of Mary Lou McDonald’s comments that she’s disappointed with Sinn Féin’s performance in the local elections, newly elected Shannon MD Cllr Donna McGettigan (SF) says, “We’ve doubled the representation and raised the profile [of Sinn Féin] in Clare.”

18:57 – Members of Cllr Michael Begley’s (IND) camp expect to get 200 plus transfers from Val Gillane (FG).

15:44 – “I’ve loved being a county councillor,” reflects Cllr Murphy. He references that his father has been unwell for the past six months and it has had an impact, “you’ve only one Dad and you have to look after him”.

15:43 – “I came here as a complete outsider with a very strong legacy of delivering for the communities of West Clare… If I don’t get elected, am I going to pull the plug on the emails and all the community groups I’ve worked with, the flippant answer is to say here’s Dinny Gould’s phone number but that is not in my nature,” says Cllr Cillian Murphy (FF) on Clare FM.
