Kilmaley and Clooney-Quin will contest both the Under 15 B and the Academy B Finals after prevailing in their respective semi-final clashes on Sunday.

Kilmaley finally shrugged off Newmarket-on-Fergus by 3-16 to 1-12 in Crusheen as following an excellent duel between chief marksmen Joe Casey and Michael Power, the former grabbed a goal either side of the final water break while Daire Culligan provided the clinching goal to ensure a second successive final appearance.

A strong final quarter showing also saw Clooney-Quin finally put daylight between themselves and Ballyea in what turned out to be a rather flattering 4-17 to 2-09 win in Clarecastle. First half goals through Darragh McNamara, Darragh White and PJ McCarthy could only edge Clooney-Quin five clear by the break and six by the turn of the final quarter before a fourth goal through substitute Cathal Leamy rather opening the floodgates.

Broadford and Tulla will contest the Under 15B Shield Final, it’s a rematch between Wolfe Tones and Crusheen/Tubber for the Under 15C Hurling honours while Éire Óg and Corofin/Ruan are set to lock horns in the Academy A decider.

Up first however are the Under 15 Football Championship Final equivalents, with defending Under 14 champions Lissycasey and St Joseph’s Doora/Barefield set to meet in Monday’s Division 1 Final in Cusack Park (6.45pm). 24 hours later at the same venue, Cooraclare and Clooney-Quin, who both had to endure extra-time penultimate stage clashes, face-off for the Division 2 silverware before concluding with the Division 3 version between Kilmurry Ibrickane and St Breckan’s in Cooraclare on Wednesday evening (6.45pm).

Conor Hill’s second half hat-trick sealed a 4-6 to 0-5 Under 15 Division 1 Semi-Final victory for Lissycasey over Ennistymon on away soil while in Ballynacally, it was also the visitors St Joseph’s Doora/Barefield that prevailed over Clondegad by 1-14 to 0-06, helped by a powerful first half showing including a Padraic O’Donovan goal that boosted the Parish to an unassailable 11 point interval cushion.

In the Under 15 Division 2 Semi-Finals, a late extra-time winning goal from Jerry O’Connor saw Clooney-Quin shade a 5-12 to 4-12 thriller over Wolfe Tones while Evan Maher and Simon Culligan were Cooraclare’s decisive goalscorers in the additional periods to complete a 4-13 to 2-11 triumph over Parteen.
