THE IRFU has announced that two of its international rugby sides will will wear black armbands this weekend as a mark of respect to the families of Jack Kenneally and Shay Moloney.
The Ireland Under-20s are taking part in the World Rugby U-20 Championship while the Irish Men’s Sevens teams will be at the London Sevens respectively.
A statement from Irish Rugby said: “The thoughts and prayers of everyone involved in rugby go to the families of Jack and Shay. The Irish Rugby family stands #shouldertoshoulder with their families and everyone in Ennis.”
Meanwhile departing Munster star Simon Zebo was also among those to pay tribute to the Ennis RFC U15 stars.
“Very sad news to hear of the passing of Jack and Shay. Their friends and families are in our prayers @EnnisRugby,” he wrote on Twitter.
The two friends passed away in tragic circumstances this week when they got into difficulty while swimming at the disused Roselvan Quarry.
