Cappa Pier

Cappa Beach was one of the many Clare facilities embraced during the height of COVID-19 restrictions by locals, improvement works for the Kilrush attraction have been confirmed.

Repairs of the existing pathways from the steps at Cappa was requested by Cllr Ian Lynch (IND) at the June meeting of the West Clare Municipal District. His motion was seconded by Cllr Cillian Murphy (FF).

Senior engineer, Alan Kennelly in response assured that the repairs would be “carried out shortly”.

“During COVID-19 it brought home the facilities that were on our doorsteps, this was one on our doorstep that got great use,” Cllr Lynch outlined. He highlighted that the two footpaths at Cappa have been consistently corroded over time. “I appreciate there is probably a bigger plan for the future of Cappa,” he added.
