HEN PARTIES remain welcome in Lahinch, local publicans have stressed.
While a pact has been reached among three local publicans to refuse entry to stag parties in light of a recent incident, vintners in Lahinch have stressed that the door remains open to hen parties who may be on tour in North-West Clare.
According to locals, hen parties are better behaved and cause less trouble in Lahinch compared to the stag dos.
Publicans have moved to clarify that hen parties remain welcome. Notices have appeared on some pubs in Lahinch advising that stag parties will be refused entry.
“It would be a huge loss to the village,” one local told The Clare Echo of the potential impact of Lahinch saying no to hen parties. “Hen parties bring good business to Lahinch,” it was noted.
Speaking at last week’s meeting of the Clare Joint Policing Committee, Bill Slattery highlighted that more anti-social behaviour issues have arose in Lahinch since the pandemic. “Since COVID, we’ve had a different element of young drinkers, whatever has happened, they have come out with a bang, it doesn’t look good for the village”.
