GENERAL CLEANING has been approved for the footpaths of housing estates throughout the village of Meelick.
In a proposal before the Shannon Municipal District, Cllr Pat O’Gorman (FF) asked for spraying and general cleaning of the footpaths in Meelick housing estates, his call was seconded by Cllr John Crowe (FG).
He remarked, “the weeds and grass are beginning to take over the footpaths and making it very dangerous for people walking”.
Senior executive engineer in the Shannon MD, Tom Mellett confirmed that the works would be added to the current maintenance programme.
