GOOGLE services have been restored following a brief disruption on Monday afternoon.

VARIOUS people in County Clare had reported issues with their Google services on Monday morning. The exceptionally rare event sparked widespread confusion online as Google services including Gmail, Youtube and maps appeared to be down across the world. Their one remaining service that was unaffected was the search engine.

People and workplaces were impacted by the service disruption and while Google did not clarified what the issue was, services resumed just after 12.30pm. People took to Twitter using the hashtag #googledown, with some users blaming the year 2020 for the issue.
