A further decline in the transmission of COVID-19 in Clare has been recorded.
Less than five new cases have been recorded in Clare for the third day in succession, NPHET stated on Thursday evening. The county’s 14 day incidence rate per 100k of the population has dropped to 40.4 and is the fourth lowest in the Republic of Ireland.
Nationally, 474 new cases are known, 167 are in Dublin, 39 in Kildare, 37 in Cork, 36 in Donegal, 29 in Meath and the remaining 166 cases are spread across all other counties.
An additional three deaths linked to the virus have been notified to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre. There has been a total of 4,899 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.
Numbers in critical care have also dropped. The figure as of 8am on Thursday is 44 and is included in the 155 persons that are hospitalised as a result of COVID-19. 14 additional hospitalisations occurred in the past 24 hours.
As of April 27 2021, 1,452,434 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland, 411,150 people have received both doses.
