Clare athletes bring home four medals after a successful weekend at the Autumn Open International Cross Country Festival.

Athletes from all over county Clare journeyed to Abbotstown Dublin for the 8th Autumn Open International Cross Country Festival on Sunday 13 October.

In the men’s masters category, Kenneth Rodgers of St. John’s AC took the silver medal position securing him a place to represent Ireland in the British and Irish Cross Country Championships in Belfast in November. Also representing St. John’s AC on the day was Ger Troy and Conor Madigan.

Anne Marie Connellan of Ennis Track AC took gold in the women’s over 50s category. Anne Marie will join Kenneth Rodgers to represent Ireland in November.  Also competing from the Ennis track delegation was Rebecca Coughlan and Dee
Grady.

Kilmurry Ibrikane North Clare was represented by two athletes, Michelle O Mahony in the over 60s age category and James Kenny in the over 65s age category. Michelle took home a bronze medal and James took home silver. They will both go on to represent Ireland abroad in Belfast in the upcoming cross country championships.
