EMERGENCY SERVICES successfully brought a gorse fire under control on the western side of Kilmaley on Thursday evening.
Shortly after lunchtime on Thursday, reports of a gorse fire in Kinturk in the parish of Kilmaley were flagged.
Units from the Clare County Fire and Rescue Service were witnessed passing Kilmaley en route to the scene at approximately 14:40. Their efforts prevented the fire from spreading to forestry in what is one of the more remote parts of the Kilmaley parish.
Co Clare is under a Condition Orange High Fire Risk warning until Monday April 14th at 12pm. Recent gorse fires have occurred in Bridgetown and Shragh.
