ADDITION OF PUBLIC lighting along Holland Drive in Liscannor has been requested.

Following a proposal by Cllr Shane Talty (FF), staff in the West Clare Municipal District moved to request additional public lighting to the stretch of road.

Existing electricity supply poles are already in place, Cllr Talty observed while asking that the further lighting be added from the rear of the church up to the national school. “It is a dead end serving a primary school, there is no lighting or a real footpath, it is a dangerous stretch in dark evenings coming home from school,” he stated.

Support was voiced by Cllr Joe Killeen (FF). “Liscannor village is in the process of getting a wastewater treatment system which will bring housing and the footfall will increase. There is a necessity to improve safety for all concerned,” he highlighted.
