A SWIMMING BAN HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTED for Cappa Pier in Kilrush.
After receiving advice from the HSE, Clare County Council have placed a temporary prohibition on swimming in Cappa due to elevated bacterial levels.
“Ongoing motoring is being undertaken and the prohibition on swimming will be removed when bacterial levels recede to acceptable levels. The elevated bacterial levels are as a result of turbulent sea conditions which occurred over the weekend,” a spokesperson for Clare County Council outlined.
The do not swim ban will remain in place until new advice is issued.
Last month, Cappa Pier was one of nine Clare beaches to retain its Blue Flag from An Taisce.
