A language school in Ennis has launched a brand new website to promote their virtual learning platform as crucial advances in online learning continue to boost children’s education.
With funding from Local Enterprise Office Clare by way of a Trading Online Voucher, French For Fun Language School launched a new website last week, enabling parents to book their children’s French Online Classes with ease and at the click of a button.
Last week, An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin (FF) speaking at the launch of Ireland’s Education Yearbook 2020 felt the education sector needed to be open to innovation and included the possibility of teaching European languages at primary schools in the wake of Brexit as an example of embracing a change.
His comments are referenced by the owner of French For Fun, Rhona Gomès. The school has been teaching children in Ennis since 2011 using the award-winning La Jolie Ronde Structured Programme. Group and or individual classes are delivered online or face to face.
Simplicity was key to the design of a new website, she said. “The main focus for the new website was to keep it simple and well organised as well as fun and creative. Working together with Noel O’Connor of the Design Locker, we wanted to build a site that was specifically informative and a valued experience for the user in mind; so we centralised all the information about our French classes and enabled an easy search functionality so parents can now browse when book upcoming classes online with ease. For new pupils wanting to join, there is detailed information on each programme, by age group, plus encouraging words on why language learning is so important now and for the future and again, parents are able to book a first class online”.
Rhona added, “My mission is and has always been, for learning to be a thoroughly positive experience. With our classes we introduce French to children through enjoyable and entertaining songs, stories, games and role-plays so that they become totally engaged and enjoy their language classes. Each child also receives their very own activity book and access to our fabulous audio material so they can practice at home plus parents can also see how well their children are progressing. With many schools still not allowing outside providers into school, our classes are also online so children can continue their bilingual journey afterschool or on a weekend, at home, via a device of their choice”.
