Quarter-final pairings have been decided in the race for the Canon Hamilton.
Three in a row chasing Sixmilebridge will meet Éire Óg in a repeat of last year’s semi-final. The two clubs have been evenly matched in recent championship meetings with the Davy Fitzgerald coached Bridge managing to have the upperhand over Matt Shannon’s side in previous encounters.
Unbeaten in three games to date, Inagh/Kilnamona have showed impressive form and will face the loser of this weekend’s clash between Ballyea and Cratloe. The form of Pa Kelly between the posts, David Fitzgerald in defence and the lively duo of Conner Hegarty and Aidan McCarthy has been a standout aspect for Inamona in their outings so far.
Whichever side wins between Ballyea and Cratloe faces off with either Kilmaley or Clonlara. A win is needed for Clonlara when they face the Conor Clancy managed and Colin Lynch coached side this weekend whereas Kilmaley can afford to draw the game.
Neighbours Newmarket-on-Fergus and Wolfe Tones meet in the final quarter-final tie in what will be their first championship meeting in five years. The Tones progressed from their group with The Bridge, Scariff and Clarecastle while the Blues will count themselves to have secured top spot in Group Four as they were headed into the relegation zone with minutes remaining in their final group game with Clooney/Quin.
These games are due to be played on the weekend of October 16th/17th. Fixture details are to be made closer to the time with Cusack Park the expected venue for all quarter-finals.
