An examination is to be carried out by Council staff in Labasheeda to determine if additional street lighting is needed.

Cllr Bill Chambers (FF) appealed for the extension of street lighting outside the house of Nora Malone on Coast Rd in Labasheeda at a recent meeting of the West Clare Municipal District. His request was seconded by Cllr Shane Talty (FF).

Senior engineer, Alan Kennelly confirmed that an examination would be carried out on the R473 towards Kildysart “to ensure that erecting an additional streetlight does not compromise traffic safety. If it is safe to do so, an additional street light will be provided, as requested”.
