10 new cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed in Clare among 829 nationally with 6 extra deaths recorded.

Clare’s 14 day incidence rate per 100k of the populations remains the fifth lowest in the Republic of Ireland at a figure of 173.4. A provisional tally of 10 new cases are known in Clare, the figures will be validated by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre tomorrow (Tuesday).

Nationally, 829 new cases have been recorded with 386 in Dublin, 39 in Meath, 36 in Cork, 35 in Kildare, 32 in Louth and the remaining 301 cases are spread across 20 other counties.

There are six additional deaths related to the virus that have been notified to health officials. 5 of these deaths occurred in February, and one occurred in January. The median age of those who died was 84 years and the age range was 75-95 years. Five deaths have been de-notified.

Data from 2pm on Monday detailed that there are 176 persons in critical care, they are included in the 1,212 in hospital. 39 additional hospitalisations occurred in the past 24 hours.

As of February 5, 230,776 people have received a COVID-19 vaccine. 151,212 people have received their first dose and 79,554 people have received their second dose.
