Champions Newmarket Celtic A kept up their strong challenge to retain the Premier Division title with this victory over Shannon Hibs on Sunday.

Shannon Hibs took the lead through Billy Connors but Newmarket were level before half time thanks to David McCarthy.

Daithí O’Connell struck for a powerful lead goal in the second half and substitute Martin McCarthy a younger brother of David sealed the win with the team’s third.

At the same time Kilkishen Celtic will entertain Manus Celtic B while Manus Celtic A will have home advantage at 2pm for their meeting with neighbours Fern Celtic.
