ELEVEN local soccer games in Maloney Hardware Premier Division, Ennis Carpets Clare Cup and lower divisions have fell foul to the weather conditions.

Co Clare is one of fifteen counties under a status yellow wind and rain warning on Sunday. Heavy rain and high winds are forecast on Sunday.

On Sunday morning, the Clare District Soccer League (CDSL) confirmed that the meeting of Callan Utd and Shannon Town C in the first round of the Clare Cup scheduled to kick off in the People’s Park in Kilmihil had been called off due to an “unplayable pitch”.

Frank Healy Park, the county grounds is also unplayable according to the CDSL which prompted the Premier Division encounter between Bridge Utd A and Inch Crusaders to be postponed. The meeting of Lifford FC and Newmarket Celtic A had been pulled earlier this weekend.

In the Banner Fire First Division, only the meeting of Manus Celtic and Newmarket Celtic B proceeds. Ennis Dons A vs Rhine Rovers, Mountshannon Celtic vs Moher Celtic, Bunratty Cratloe vs Fairgreen Celtic and Sporting Ennistymon vs Coole FC have all been called off.

Connolly Celtic’s tie with Hermitage A in the Brian Pyne Second Division has been postponed.
