WATER SUPPLY is out in Cratloe and Meelick after a burst to a large trunk water main on Saturday morning.
Approximately 2000 households in the Cratloe and Meelick parishes are without water supply as a result.
Repairs are due to be completed by 6pm on Saturday evening, Uisce Éireann have said however it may take a further two to three hours for normal supply to fully restore to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.
Uisce Éireann have said water services engineers are working to complete repairs to this burst and every effort is being made to reduce the impact on homes and businesses.
Speaking about the unplanned outage, Water Operations Lead for Uisce Éireann, Darragh Conneely stated “Expert crews are onsite working hard get repair the burst as soon as possible and restore customers’ water supply. We regret any inconvenience as a result of this issue and thank the local community for their patience”.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
