BRIDGE UTD have booked their place in the Munster Junior Cup quarter-finals following a dramatic victory over Dungarvan Utd.

Liam Buckley headed home a header on ninety three minutes to send Bridge Utd through to the quarter-finals of the provincial competition in the dying moments.

Mark Culbert’s side are now the last Clare side standing in the competition after battling past the challenge of a sticky Dungarvan Utd in Sixmilebridge on Sunday morning.

Filip Mostowy was a constant threat for the winners who recovered from the disappointment of a last gasp exit in the FAI Junior Cup a week previous when a late penalty from Evergreen FC ended their involvement in the national competition in the last thirty two stage.

They will discover their quarter-final opponents this Sunday when the draw is held for the Munster Junior Cup quarter-finals in Fermoy. The other sides remaining in the competition include Coachford AFC who conquered Avenue Utd on Sunday, Janeboro FC, Peake Villa FC, Portlaw Utd, Ringmahon Rangers, Villa FC and Pike Rovers who have Shannon striker Eoin Duff as part of their starting eleven.

Visitors Dungarvan finished with ten men after substitute Alan Dunwoody received a straight red card from referee Brian Punch with ninety two minutes played.
