Kildysart and St Breckans will meet in the final of the Clare IFC following their respective semi-final wins over the weekend.

As expected Kildysart had too much for Shannon Gaels on Saturday, they recorded a 1-15 0-09 win. Brian Eyres netted a penalty in additional time to secure back to back final appearances for the Estuary Men. Emmet McMahon kicked five points with Diarmuid O’Donnell contributing three. Shannon Gaels did take the lead at the beginning of the game but soon fell behind, reaching the last four will be considered a positive campaign for the Peter O’Connell coached outfit.

On Sunday, St Breckans put to bed St Joseph Doora/Barefield’s ambitions of completing an intermediate double. The North Clare side had a 2-14 1-10 victory over The Parish, Maccon Byrne and Dale Masterson providing the goals for the winners.

Despite drawing back level through a Conor Brannock goal, Doora/Barefield found themselves two points adrift at half-time despite only raising four white flags. Byrne’s goal came twenty three seconds into second half, Masterson’s green flag on forty minutes came at a vital stage as Kevin Frehil’s charges had reduced the deficit back to three points. From here, there was no stopping Donie Garrihy’s men.

The final will take place in two weeks time.
