Avenue United will carry the hopes of Clare soccer on this Sunday as they take on North End from Wexford with a place in the quarter finals of the FAI Junior Cup awaiting the winners.

North End will enjoy home advantage for this fixture as they come up against a very much in form Ennis club who are unbeaten this season. They are already through to the quarter finals of the Munster Junior cup while they also have their sights set on the domestic double of Premier Division and Clare Cup.

Under the watchful eye of manager David Russell and led by in form captain Dylan Casey, another win for the Ennis side cannot be ruled out.

North End are an experienced outfit and they will be hoping that home advantage will count while Avenue United, the only Clare club ever to contest the FAI Junior Cup final, will travel to Wexford confident that they can move a step closer to this season’s title.

Meanwhile in the FAI U17 cup, Newmarket Celtic will face Corduff in a quarter final tie on this Saturday at 2p.m. at McDonagh Park. The fixture is a massive one for Barry O’Driscoll’s charges who defeated Letterkenny Rovers following extra time in the previous round.
