Young Trophy draws

The Autumn league continued at Woodstock last week when the format was fourball betterball.

The winners with 46 points were Ruairi Breen and Brian Logue, they had one to spare over Paddy Meehan and Brian Kilker who pipped Jason Dormer and Tony Coote on the back nine. In fourth spot, also with 45 points were Brian Keogh and Ray Grogan with Ross Darmody and John Brennan fifth on 43 points.

In the club fourball competition the winners were Cathal Nagle and Eugene Killeen with 44 points
The league continues this weekend when the format will be a rumble where players will play their own ball throughout the round. One score will count for the first six holes, two scores on holes 7 to 12 and three scores for the final six holes. For those not taking part in the Autumn league there will be a club singles

Ennis Golf Club:

Last week’s senior ladies competition at Ennis was won by Brid Cunningham, Margaret Flanagan and Peig Cleary with 50.5 points. In second place with 51 5/6 were Carmel Verling, Nuala D’Auria and Anne McMahon with third spot filled by Bridie Hanrahan, Margaret McEnery and Mary Murray with 53 points.

The weekly ladies 9 hole singles was won by Mary Nagle (13) with 20 points from Mary McMahon (12) with 19 points with Suzanne Deane (8) in third spot with 18 points

Kilrush Golf Club:

Part Murtagh (12) was the winner of the weekly winter turkey competition at Kilrush with 32 points from Shane Carey (10) with 31, Derek Garvey (10) with 31 and John Stapleton (14) with 30 points.

Dromoland Golf Club:

Dermot McMahon was the winner of the men’s 18 hole singles stableford competition at Dromoland with 44 points. He had two to spare over Brendan Spicerf with third spot filled by Ruairi Price with 39 points followed by Gerry Barrett with 38 points. Noel O’Brien won the gross with 32 points.

Colette Colleran won the ladies 9 hole turkey/wine/chocolate competition with 20 points from Joan Ryan with a similar score. Mairead Toomey was third with 19 points.

Shannon Golf Club:
The Autumn league concluded in Shannon last week and resulted in victory for team Abrahan Ancer with a total of 399 points. The members of the team are Joe O’Neill and Michael Darcy; David Flynn and Eamonn Carroll; Eddie Russell and John Monaghan.

In last week’s green tee challenge the winner was Dermot Eyers (27) with 44 points from Charles Fisher (19) with 43 points with third spot filled by Hugh Heaney (15) with 42 points. Eoin Collins (9) won the gross with 33 points
