ENNISTYMON’s Michael Mongan won the Boys 48kg All-Ireland Championship Final at the National Stadium in Dublin on Sunday.
In what was Michael’s first year of championship action, he secured county, provincial and national honours. The Munster championship saw him overcome a tough south paw opponent.
For the All-Ireland series, Michael stopped his first opponent with a second round TKO and overcome his toughest opponent, Christy Joyce (Olympic L) in the final winning by unanimous decision.
The North Clare boxer is a member of the Rathkeale club.
